SYNOPSIS:
687 applicants, ten places, nine examiners, ten days. Year after year,
the entry exam at the state drama school in Hanover poses not only
an extraordinary challenge for the applicants but also an endurance
test for the teaching staff: the battle by the examiners to secure the
greatest talents is as fierce as that of the applicants for one of the
scarce places. This film casts an eye on the more rarely seen side of
the examining board. We get to know the panel members as human
beings who constantly question themselves and their own selection
standards and passionately fight for their personal favourites. This
allows us, the audience, to empathise with both sides and makes it
possible to form our own opinion about the selection and assessment
criteria.
