SYNOPSIS
THE WAGNER BROTHERS tells the remarkable story of Franz and Moritz Wagner, two brothers who rose from the elementary school gyms of Berlin to college stardom at the University of Michigan and ultimately the global stage of the NBA. It’s a tale of family, fame, money, and brotherhood set against the backdrop of professional basketball.
Both now playing for the Orlando Magic, Franz and Moritz Wagner have made an extraordinary journey from German basketball obscurity to the pinnacle of the sport. The series captures their story over two years, offering unprecedented access to the brothers’ lives. The documentary follows their intense training camps in California, emotional contract negotiations, holiday moments like Thanksgiving in Florida, and family visits to their Berlin home. From celebrating their FIBA World Cup win with the German National Team to enduring tough NBA playoff defeats, the film captures the highs and lows of their careers.
This is more than a basketball documentary—it’s an intimate look at the dynamic between two brothers who embody contrasts: East and West, raw emotion and cool analysis, humor and depth.
Ultimately, The Wagner Brothers presents a story that is both larger than life and deeply personal.
